We are a group of 4th ESO students, and we have just returned from an amazing Erasmus+ trip to Réunion Island, a French island located in the Indian Ocean. It has been one of the most exciting and enriching experiences we have ever had, both personally and academically.
What activities and experiences did we take part in during our trip?
Over seven days, we enjoyed many activities. We visited stunning waterfalls, relaxed on beautiful beaches, and saw the active volcano Piton de la Fournaise. We also experienced local culture, tried traditional foods, and joined fun activities with students from the island, making the trip truly amazing.
What did we learn?
We attended classes at our partner school in Réunion and met students our age, which helped us to improve our English but mostly our French and understand a different education system. The island’s mix of cultures and its amazing nature — volcanoes, mountains, forests, and beaches — really impressed us.
Our Favourite Moments
Our highlights were visiting the Piton de la Fournaise volcano, trying new local foods, joining activities with Réunion students, and discovering the Créole language and traditions…
